Home / How it works

Eight stages. One measure of success.

Every project runs the same route: a scope you approve before the real work starts, and a walkthrough at the end so the reasoning is yours, not just the file.

01
EnquirySend the brief

Email your data type, volume — audio hours, transcripts, or cases and variables — your method if you've chosen one, and your deadline. A sample file helps but isn't required.

02
ScopingScope call & NDA

We come back with clarifying questions. If the data is sensitive, we sign your NDA — or send ours — before anything moves.

03
AgreementFixed written quote

One price, in writing, for the scope discussed. It doesn't move unless the scope does — no hourly creep, no surprise invoice.

04
CheckpointCodebook or analysis plan approved

Before we run your whole dataset, you see and approve the direction — the codebook, the framework, or the statistical plan. This is the point where changing course still costs nothing.

~20% of the work
Two researchers grouping colour-coded sticky notes into themes on a wall
05
AnalysisThe full dataset, worked

Coding, thematic or statistical analysis carried out against the approved plan, with memos and an audit trail kept as we go — not reconstructed afterwards.

The bulk of the timeline
A laptop screen showing interview text with colour-coded highlighted passages
06
DraftFindings drafted, sent for review

A findings narrative or results draft comes back to you before final delivery, so any late correction is still cheap to make.

Revisions included

07
DeliveryFiles delivered, walkthrough call

Transcripts, project files, syntax, tables and the write-up land together, followed by a call where we walk through the reasoning so you can explain it yourself.

On the agreed date
Headphones and a laptop showing an audio waveform on a desk
OutcomeYou defend it — and it holds

A viva passed, a paper through peer review, a report a funder acts on. The measure of this whole process is not the file we sent — it's what happened when someone else examined it.

Why the checkpoint matters

The 20% mark is deliberate

Most research support gets this backwards — the full dataset is coded or analysed before you ever see the direction, so a disagreement at delivery means redoing everything. We show you the codebook or the analysis plan early, at the point where a correction is still an afternoon's work rather than a month's.

Where we stand

Support you can name out loud to your supervisor

A lot of this industry sells work you have to hide. We don't, and the difference shows up in what you receive.

Support you can name out loud to your supervisor.

We don't write your thesis

No ghostwriting. We analyse and document your data so you can defend every step yourself.

The method is the deliverable

Codebook, memos, syntax and project file — not a black box. Every finding traces back to the raw data.

Fixed price, agreed up front

One written quote before any work starts. No hourly creep, no surprise invoice.

Your data stays yours

NDA on request, encrypted transfer, and deletion on completion if you ask for it.

One email with your data type, volume and deadline is enough for a fixed written quote — back with you within 1 business day, NDA first if you prefer.
